At long last... The huge armor project I've been working on for a few months has finally come to a close. While there are still a few tweaks and adjustments I want to make to Leina, I'm SUPER happy with how she turned out, and I can't wait to fix up a few things and wear her again.
I got to wear Leina first at a closed shoot in Georgia, a shoot I had exactly three days before I had to pack up and leave for Otakon... Holy crap was I extra busy that week! But I'm so glad I was able to participate in the shoot, Leina might not have gotten finished in time for Otakon, if I hadn't had the shoot right before hand buckling me down and busting my butt to get her finished. (Oh yeah, and my friend Cathy's basement/work shop... She beat me with a wet noodle until 4AM to get all those studs into the straps.) I love you, Cathy!
Eventually I'd like to cut the wig for the braided version as well as finish up her shield thing, which I have in progress at the moment.
All of the armor is made from veg-tanned leather, painted with Nu-Life silver spray, sealed with Saddle-Lac, then weathered with water and black acrylics. The sword is made from poplar, and the belts/straps are brown suede. The wig is an Arda Le Tigre Long in Ginger Blonde.
wow this turned out so beautiful! And this look (long hair, blunt bangs, boobage) looks fantastic on you. I'm sure the short hair/ braids will look equally cool!
Guuuurl, you know how sexy and kick ass you look in this? THIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIS MUCH x'D. I'm sad I missed this in person ; <3
